Thanks for the response, Nathan!  I'll check in with SciPy.  They have quite a few different convolution functions.

Our backup is publishing this as a standalone package on PyPI and conda-forge.  I wanted to see if it made sense to integrate it with something else first, though.

Unfortunately since it's a single function I don't think it's a candidate for JOSS.
