Big update! I'm working on one of the last PRs needed to get the test suite running under `pytest-run-parallel`. I recently submitted a large PR [1] that marked up any tests that were thread-unsafe (this was recently merged), and this latest PR [2] seeks to integrate a `pytest-run-parallel` run into the CI jobs.
