Well, I've finally gotten around to processing SF patch #736940, which
wraps Optik's small collection of literal strings in _(), so gettext can
translate them if the right infrastructure is present. It's not checked
in, but the tests still pass, so it should be fine.
If I understand things correctly, that means Optik is now
internationalized. Woo-hoo. Now comes the interesting bit:
localization. I don't think Optik should install its own message
catalog, but I would at least like to make .po files available for
internationalized Optik-based applications.
So: does anyone out there have experience translating strings using the
gettext tools, and are you willing to help out? It shouldn't be too
hard; Optik only has 19 strings in it! Please let me know --
Greg

I wonder if I ought to tell them about my PREVIOUS LIFE as a COMPLETE
STRANGER?
