I've asked about this on the mailman_users mailing list (before mal replied). It seems an odd design choice, to me, so I wondered if I had missed a way to override this choice, or if there was some compelling reason why it _absolutely has to be done in a config file_ that I don't understand. I will write back if I attain illumination.
