Thank you, this is excellent. This seg-faults for me too.

This is relevant (for the Py-CS folks) because I earlier claimed to be 
using PyDS on Gentoo w/ Metakit 2.4.9.3 without any corruption. Next 
best guess is that I have a different usage pattern or something else is 
preventing my system from corrupting the files.

I am now shutting down PyDS and downgrading to 2.4.9.2, now that there 
is a test case that doesn't involve Py[CD]S.
