My feeling is that the possible performance improvement from doing UDP with Python rather than TCP, is negligible (it might even be worse). Also, if you are concerned about performance on this scale, Python (+Pyro) is probably not the best choice for your system to begin with....

Of course, I don't know what exactly you are doing so I can be mistaken :-)
