Axiom scaling to larger databases

I want to propose Axiom and Mantissa to a prospective employeer for a
project I'm being contracted for. This needs to scale well and I don't
want to upset them by finding Axiom (and SQLite?) have trouble with
scaling to larger databases, so I'm asking now. I'll be having
probably a few hundred thousand items in the store, and it will be
expected to grow continually during use. Mostly this will be read,
peaking at a few hundred or thousand queries a second during the
heaviest use.

I think Axiom can handle that. Am I right?
