You are correct. I was using SQLite 2 something which is what comes  
with fink (I'm on OSX).

I built my own python2.4 devel environment and things almost work... :-)

I currently get the following error:
/usr/local/lib/python2.4/site-packages/axiom/dependency.py:128:  
DeprecationWarning: Set either sessioned or sessionless on  
'DeveloperSite'!  Falling back to deprecated providedBy() behavior
   pifs = [(i, p) for (i, p) in pifs]

with the following command:
axiomatic -d interlix.axiom mantissa
