As I understand it (I don't know much about Gentoo, just extrapolating =66rom distro packaging in general, and Thomas's other comments), the installation is done into a "sandbox" area, not directly into /; this works fine, except that the setup tries to update the global plugin cache, which doesn't work since the installation process doesn't have write access to /, only to the sandbox area. > setuphelper in epsilon is really just helping you to do the "right=20 > thing" as far as installing a program that uses Twisted plugins. The=20 > underlying issue is Twisted's plugin-cache generation. Presumably the Gentoo installation process would manually regenerate the plugin cache once the files have been installed into the actual system. --=20 mithrandi, i Ainil en-Balandor, a faer Ambar --VbJkn9YxBvnuCH5J Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: Digital signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.9 (GNU/Linux) iEYEARECAAYFAkmSyVQACgkQpNuXDQIV94pEhQCfWrgOS3R2AQ8U68CPWzrJM5oR ciMAn32NRrNVe1NBfUVvOL520ySq/Apa =DXxn -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --VbJkn9YxBvnuCH5J-- --===============1279320267== Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline
