Change PDF Version that reportlab generates

Hi list,
if I am not mistaken, the PDFs reportlab generates are PDF-Version 1.4.
Is it possible to directly generate PDF-Version 1.6 or higher?
I searched the web but wasn't successful in finding any hints.
