ReportLab and rlextra - version 4.0 out

Version 4.0 of reportlab - and its commercial counterpart, rlextra - 
have been released.

Like many in the Python world, we have long been saddled with the burden 
of linking to older C libraries, and having to compile them for all 
platforms and python versions.   Version 4.0 removes one old C library, 
and switches from some old and unsupported libraries to newer ones, all 
of which are external packages.  This includes the lxml XML parser, 
PyCairo graphics engine for generated bitmaps, and freetype-py for font 
metrics and rendering in generated graphics.  For further information see
