[spe] installing SPEm

I just installed SPE m and like the install.txt said I just moved the 
two folders to my site-packages folder.  opening up the _spe folder I 
noticed that the installWin.py file is no longer there (I liked the 
shell integration) and there is now a install.py file.  Looking at the 
code it appears that this file may do the same thing, however it needs a 
package called spit.  So my question is
1) what does install.py do? and
2) what is spit and where can I get it.
