Dear Stani,

I've modified your smdi.py file (from your most recent 0.8.1b build) to
include a single vs multiple instance flag (see line 1161) if its set to
true then spe behaves as a single app utilizing
singleApp.SingleInstanceApp.  If its false it falls back to the current
default utilizing wx.App.  I also modified the appropriate lines
12005-1208 and 1217-1221 to support the singleInstance flag as well. 
I've not dived deep enough into the code to see how to add this as a
real preference in the preference panel, but I could.  In any event
please find the attached file for your consideration.

PS as always thanks for writing such a great program, spe is my python
editor of choice!
