I am trying to built a spe.deb using the source from svn, following these steps: 
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UpdatingADeb

svn checkout svn://svn.berlios.de/python/spe/trunk/_spe
mv _spe/ spe-svn/
cp -a spe-0.8.2a+repack/debian/ spe-svn/
cp spe-0.8.2a+repack/spe spe-svn/
cp spe-0.8.2a+repack/spe_wininst.py spe-svn/

ln -s ../../../../share/doc/spe doc

file or directory

huh?  what is the trick with this?

Also, any chance of getting the 2 extra files checked into svn, or at least 
added somewhere with a scrip to wget them?
