Spyce daemon mode and FreeBSD

Hi all,
Anyone using Spyce in daemon mode under FreeBSD? Spyce will not start 
for me; I am running into the following error:

# Daemonizing process.
Waiting for scheduler thread...
Waiting for scheduler thread...
Fatal error 'mutex is on list' at line 540 in file 
/usr/src/lib/libpthread/thread/thr_mutex.c (errno = 0)
Scheduler thread has stopped
Spyce 2.0.3 starting
# Spawning another server (for check_modules_and_restart option)

This isn't a Spyce problem; it seems to be related to this problem 
description, which says, "Tied to this problem is the lack of FreeBSD 
support for pthread_atfork(), which is supposed to make it safe to call 
fork() in an environment using threads." --

However, from what I can tell, pthread_atfork() is in newer versions of 
FreeBSD (I'm using 6.0), so perhaps the problem is that the Python libs 
have not been updated to call this function on FreeBSD?

Before I research any further, I thought I'd check to see if anyone has 
had success daemonizing Spyce  under FreeBSD.
