Using the standalone server with mod_rewrite is just another way to
deploy. The Spyce docs say it's the preferred method, but isn't a
viable option for everyone.

Spyce + Apache + mod_python is indeed possible, although it can be
more troublesome. If possible, use mod_python 3 and Apache 2. Check
your error logs for anything about python, mod_python, etc. Make sure
that you're using the correct handler. For mod_python 2 the handler is
"python-program", for 3 it's "mod_python".

If you still can't get it working, try the (F)CGI option. If that
doesn't work out for you, there's always the standalone + mod_rewrite
to fall back on.
