start problems under ubuntu

I have some problems with web server under ububtu linux.

I start the stand alone server with:

python spyce.spy -l

and all seems go well, but when i start my browser with

http://localhost:8000

i get the error:

python syntax error at /home/cscd/spyce/www/inc/static.spy:2 invalid syntax
import spyce

ubuntu version is 6.10 and python 2.4

under windows all ok
