Some context, my college professors didn't try to indoctrinate me into their politics. We had people of divergent beliefs, or who chose to express none, but this was a long time ago. One of my wife's professors was hostile to student work that did not support the professor's ideals.

Mats, you failed to add a full context to what I wrote. Did you see my statement "There are some good folks coming out of it, and a lot of not so good."? That is a present tense statement, there are still good people coming out of the system.

I didn't say anything about your father, nor did I say each and every professor is problematic. I agree that your reply is offensive, and becomes almost indistinguishable from a particular ideology, but one personal reference doesn't prove my statement wrong. Reading the news, no matter what your political preference or belief system, shows colleges abroil in political protests and turmoil instead of actual education.

Can someone go to a US college and get a decent education? It is possible. Can they waste a lot of time and money? Again, the news and statistics say it's very possible. dn posited that a college education would be of value, my response is that one would have to research to find a degree and institution that was worth the time and money.

Does this apply to people wanting to do Python? Very directly.
