For Mac users who may not be familiar with the X11 window system, it
should be explained that this procedure produces a Unix/Linux-like
version of VPython, not a "native-mode" version. I'm hoping to produce
a native-mode version based on Cocoa, using wxPython, which would be
usable with 64-bit Python.
