Re: Mac OS X install questions

There is some confusion about OSX version numbers (the OSX versions
with which a particular Python will work are overly conservative), but
at least until recently the files available on the vpython.org Mac
download page definitely worked. However, I wonder whether the latest
Mac OSX (Mountain Lion) has broken VPython. Does someone on this list
have access to Mountain Lion and can report whether VPython works?

As for your students, what version of OSX are they using?

Because the bulk of VPython is written in C++, it has to be compiled
for specific versions of Python. So no, you can't take a VPython
module built for some version of Python other than 3.3 and use it with
Python 3.3.
