FormKit is still maintained, but there's not much "action"... it pretty much
does what it does. We're not improving it much. We get the occasional bugfix
from the community, but that's about it.

We have a TRAC account at Python hosting set up, but it got so mercilessly
spammed that I think we locked it up.

We'd be open to rolling FormKit into webware, but FormKit really isn't
webware-centric. We have a glue servlet that makes it work very well, but it
can be used on its own, too. I don't think that many people do that, but I
use it in Pylons.

I'm not familiar with the module you mention, but FormKit does indeed
generate HTML; it does valid XHTML, with CSS, scripting, and all of those
sorts of extra attributes.

FormEncode takes a different approach; it allows template designers to
handle the form layout and such, and just looks for the values and validates
them... which is a pretty cool idea.
