Developing Python code for Windows Mobile

I am wondering how people set up their systems to develop Python (or any) code 
for Windows Mobile.  When I developed an application for the Sharp Zaurus 
(which runs Linux), I was able to run VNC server on the Zaurus.  That way, I 
could do all my typing (and viewing) at the PC.  I also used smbmount so that 
I could keep all the software I was developing on the PC.  Is any of this 
possible with Windows Mobile?  I searched for a VNC server (or any other kind 
of display server) but came up with nothing.  Are people using ActiveSync to 
download and run?
