The current standalone edition has been created at Windows XP. It
bundles wxGlade as well as Python and wxPython components to run
without a local Python/wxPython installation. Maybe the interaction of
one of those (older) components with your current Win installation is
broken.

wxPython 3 is not supported currently. The support is planned for the
next release.
Please try Python 2.7 and wxPython 2.8. That's well tested and should
work.

You could start the wxglade.py directly if you have a local
Python/wxPython installation already. The documentation
(http://wxglade.sourceforge.net/manual/ch01s07.html#idp57984) describes
this kind of setup.

SAE just bundles the necessary Python and wxPython components to
simplify the installation (for non-developers).

That's a well known bug with wxPython 3.

Running the full installer in combination with a local Python 2.x
installation and a local wxPython 2.8 installation works fine. You are
able to run wxGlade out of the source tree with this setup too.
