notebook tab insert not working

I'm trying to insert a new tab into a notebook. I click on the second entry, click insert. A line opens up correctly before the second entry. I type the name of the tab and then click "Apply". The new tab gets inserted correctly in the "Show" window in position 2; however, it gets inserted at the end of tabs in the tree and the show window displays the empty tab at the end. All of the current tabs already have a large amount of widgets attached to them. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
