Re: wont run on win 7 64bit

I removed my PYTHONPATH and as expected import wx fails (ImportError: No module named wx). I 'installed' wxPython ver 2.8 by copying it from my old XP box. (wxPython ver 2.8 is not available at www.wxpython.org - only ver 3.0 is) It is located at "D:\Apps\Python\2_7\Lib\site-packages\wx-2.8-msw-unicode".

So I moved up the wx and wxPython subdirectories to ...\ site-packages directory. "import wx" now starts to run but fails with the same exception as before,

The problem is the "_core_.pyd" file in ... \site-packages\wx. Could the problem be it was (presumably) compiled for a 32 bit XP box and I've copied it to my Win7 64 bit box? If that is the problem them I'll have to get a copy of wxPython for 64 bit Win7.  Any ideas where this may be found?

Extending the PYTHONPATH shouldn't be necessary. Please try two test:
1) Open a command window, start your python (resp. python2) interpreter and call "import wx". I expect this step runs fine without trouble.

2) Open a command window, change into th wxGlade installation directory and execute python wxglade.py and report the result.

Don't set PYTHONPATH in both cases.
