Maybe you want to implement this and contribute for release 1.0? The
implementation should check whether it's registered already and register
only if the Python or wxGlade path have changed.

The Windows implementation is called this way in wxglade.py:
         if sys.platform=="win32":
             # register ".wxg" extension
             try:
                 import msw
                 msw.register_extensions(["wxg"], "wxGlade")
             except ImportError:
                 pass

Thanks. I just checked and it was only working with loaded designs, not
with frames or dialogs that were just added.
This is fixed now in the repository.

With Python 2.7 and wxPython Classic, I'm seeing crashes on Mac OS,
though. I probably need to deactivate it for this combination as it
looks more like a wxPython or wxWidgets problem.

Well, I will probably not implement this, as I don't consider
GridBagSizers that important. (In almost 20 years of wxPython usage, I
never needed one...).

I would be willing to accept code contributions for this for release
1.0, though. Probably the bottom right handle should have a different
colour to indicate that it has some function.

I'm currently working on 1.0, which will see a major re

I will modify 1.0 to accept controls being placed on sizers or widgets
without slots. Currently this behaviour is already available when
dragging an element, but not when placing from the palette.
I would not want to drop slots completely. Especially when reorganizing
things, I like to see them.
