it's in my nature to be questioning of things I don't yet understand and
been necessary in my past. If you find my continuing queries annoying or
not helpful to the community, then do not answer. I will not be offended.
You will certainly hear from me when the next major issue arises.

I don't understand what you mean by "not useable". Your example codes have
always run within IDLE, with the exception of "AllWidgets_30", in all
versions from v0.9.5 and earlier and in v0.9.9pre. But these are all empty
GUI shells except maybe for the matplotlib examples. Maybe, I would
understand if there was a more complete example that would not run if the
GUI interface were generated by v0.9.5, but will run otherwise.

AllWidgets_30.py does indeed run without error in a terminal window, but
still fails within IDLE. I only use IDLE because it is available and quick.
