help in understanding why a TreeCtrl would not extend

I have a simple SplitterWindow, with a Sizer and a TreeCtrl in one of its sides.
What I don't understand is why the TreeCtrl does not extend to the full half of the container.
The .wxg file is this

and what I get is this

https://www.secarica.ro/temp/wxglade_test_splitter_sizer_vertical.png
??
("Version 1.0.1 on Python 3.9.0 and wxPython 4.1.1" on Windows 10 64bit)
