I've noticed similar size differences for different Python builds on the
same distros. My guess is that it has something to do with differences
in the compiler flags saved for the Python builds, and those same flags
being used in the wxPython builds. For example, if one is saving debug
info and one is not then the size difference would be about what you are
seeing there.
