Build error installing wxPython 4.1.0

I'm installing wxPython using the following command:
  $ pip3 install wxPython==4.1.0 -v

As far as I know, I have all prerequisites installed.  There are a couple 
warnings in the build about missing packages, like tiff, but none seem 
important.

Without looking closer, it appears that there are issues with the wx 
headers. There are no messages which mention missing headers.  There are a 
number of warning messages in other compiles.

I get a number of failures building SIP.  Here's the start of one of the 
failures.
