Hi Barry,

The other way to look at this is whether, when a new entry is created, the comment and trackback statuses would get initialized from the default statuses of the blog.  I can't find anything in the code to suggest that they get initialized from the defaults, but I think they _should_ be initialized from the defaults.  Maybe this just never got implemented.
