Olimex EEG-SMT

Has anyone used the Olimex gear (SMT and Active Electrodes) successfully? I 
can't find any project where it's been made use of, and that's surprising 
given that it's been more than a year of production.
While the openEEG design is probably solid, Olimex production is another 
question. I've read some complaints about the ready-to-use boards and the SMT, 
but nothing positive in terms of it being used for an application. 
Plus Olimex doesn't give any sort of guarantee, so i'm afraid to go ahead and 
use all my savings to ship it.
Any reassurance would be of great help :)
