Measuring ECG (EKG) with an EEG system

For people just getting started with EEG, you might not know that (usually) the same hardware and software can be used to view ones heart signals (ie, the "ECG" or "EKG").  Since the ECG is a much stronger signal, it is a much easier signal to obtain reliably than one's EEG signals.  Therefore, when starting with new EEG hardware, or when trouble-shooting old EEG hardware, I often start by measuring my ECG.

Like EEG signals, I think that ECG signals are fascinating...and because they are so much easier to get, the process of getting ECG signals is usually more fun!
