Nature is full of chemicals... e.g. concerning alcohol you can find
plenty of alcohol molecules in ripe fruits... actually "everything" in
nature is a chemical (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chemical_substance).

Just because a substance have strange name coming from latin it does not
mean that you can not find it in nature and moreover, also if it is the
case, it does not imply it is bad for your health.

In nature you can find a lot of stuff that you may call with nicer
names, but is much more poisonous than the stuff that is used for EEG gels.

p.s.
If you think some of the substances contained in EEG gel is not good for
some reasons for human usage, you should find proofs about that...
