At first glance, I'm not sure I agree with you. The chips seem wildly overpriced and there seems to be quite a lot of external components required.

I think you could build any design a lot cheaper using TI chips. The TI chips DO require very few external components and there's a lot more tested designs and a community around them.

Check out: openbci.com

You can already put TI chip channels together far closer than you can mount any sort of connector, so density isn't really an issue. The TI chip specs are great, and the price per channel is WAY lower than Intan if I'm understanding things correctly.

Thanks for posting this, it's good to know what's out there. Maybe Intan will come down on their pricing, or there's some advantage I'm not seeing. But right now it looks to me like the TI chips are the way to go in terms of price/channel, board complexity, community support, etc..

Subject: [Openeeg-list] super new asic

has anybody else seen the new ITAN biosignal chips.

these can take up to 256 channels - 4x 64 channel chip

it does all of the analog end and adc onboard. They also have released the verilog to stream the output into an FPGA.

All of the dev board schematics have been released I believe.

the chips are not cheap & the dev board is very expensive but the chip itself only needs a hand full of external components.

So I am thinking its time for a totally new design - I was gunna go with the TI asic but this is way better.

I want to make a real time loreta system similar to the mensia one Mensia Neurofeedback protocol using LORETA in real-time
