Using modularEEG to acquire ERG data

Hi All,

I'm working on a research project involving pattern electroretinography 
(detecting the signal from retinal ganglion cells in response to a 
periodic checkerboard stimulus). Unfortunately, the commercial PERG 
system we have has serious software limitations, and the manufacturer 
has not been helpful. At this point, I'd like to switch to a different 
system with more flexible software (preferably open), but another 
commercial ERG system is not in the budget.

I'm quite competent working with software and basic electronics, but 
amplifier design is outside of my wheelhouse. Is there any reason that 
the modularEEG system would be fundamentally inappropriate for 
collecting ERG data, other than tweaks to connect my ocular electrodes 
and trigger the visual stimulus?

For reference, the ERG signal I'm expecting to acquire has an amplitude 
of roughly 5 uV, and I expect to average hundreds of epochs to account 
for random noise. Is the modularEEG system potentially appropriate for 
this task?
