Hi Julia, If you are interested in propagation in the presence of weak nonlinearity then you can do it perturbatively based on linear band structure calculations with MPB. This involves mode overlap integrals using the function |(integrate-fields ...)|. For example this sort of thing is done in Phys. Rev. E *69*, 016604 (2004) and Physical Review E *64*, 056604 (2001).
