Hello,
My name is Pavan . I am an undergraduate student still learning MPB. I want
to simulate the band diagrams for a 1D nanowire with quantum dots placed
periodically on it.
This is how I proceeded in my code. I have set the geometry of the quantum
dot as a sphere and given the required coordinates using
(set! geometry (list (make sphere(center 0 0 0) (radius 0.2)
                      (material (make dielectric (epsilon 13)))))

This I guess will make copies of the sphere in 3 dimensions periodically.

Then, I wanted the 1D projection of it and hence used the following:
(set! geometry-lattice (make lattice (size no-size no-size 1))). This
according to the MPB user tutorial should make the problem on dimensional,
with standard basis.
But when I am executing it , however; some random calculations in 3D are
being done.
Please correct me, if my understanding has gone wrong somewhere in learning
the concept and rectify my code. I will be absolutely grateful to you.
Regards,
Pavan.
PS: This might seem too elementary. But I am a beginner, just began learning
MPB a day ago.
