Using MPB for Schrodinger equation

Dear Steven,
Is it possible to use MPB to solve the Schrodinger equation directly, given
a potential, V(x)?
The reason I ask is that I'd like to solve for the propagation constant
(k_z) in the paraxial limit, where the frequency is given and k_z is the
eigenvalue. In this limit, Maxwell's equations reduce to the Schrodinger
equation.
I noticed in another post that you suggested using the function "find-k" for
this. For my purposes though, I'd like to solve the S.E. directly. Any
ways of doing this straight from the scheme interface?

Thanks kindly,

Mikael
