Installation problem

Dear all, I am having trouble installing the MPB package. The main problem is concerns BLAS and HDF5 as the libraries are not being found by the configuration script even if they are there. One computer has trouble with BLAS and the other with HDF5. vjov001@ubuntu:~/Desktop/mpb-cals/examples$ locate libblas.so.3gf /etc/alternatives/libblas.so.3gf /usr/lib/libblas.so.3gf /usr/lib/atlas-base/atlas/libblas.so.3gf /usr/lib/atlas-base/atlas/libblas.so.3gf.0 /var/lib/dpkg/alternatives/libblas.so.3gf vjov001@ubuntu:~/Desktop/mpb-cals/examples$ The libraries are clearly present. Although, I have no problem installing the program without HDF5, the problems arise when this is attempted. I am a new user and any help would be greatly appreciated.
