Is it possible to calculate the band structure of a 3D geometry which is only periodic in 1 or 2 dimensions?

Hi, Is it possible to calculate the band structure of a 3D geometry which is only periodic in 1 or 2 dimensions? (i.e. for example a hexagonal lattice of holes in a slab of a given thickness or a fixed number of layers of a 3D crystal.)
