dispersion materials in MPB

Hence, I am unable to calculate the bandgaps directly using MPB. While an old post dating to 2006, http://www.mail-archive.com/mpb-discuss%40ab-initio.mit.edu/msg00040.html, suggests a way of dealing with this issue, I am unable to proceed. (1) Please let me know if there is a way to solve for the bandgap of dispersive materials in the new versions. (2) If someone in group has worked on this issue before, kindly reply.
