absolute scale for band diagram

Hello dear photonic guys,
first of all thank you for making this wonderful peace of software.
I'm using it to calculate the ideal band-diagrams for my prepared inverse
opal structures.
This works quite fine, but I'm struggling a bit with the relative scale.
Do I have to convert it to absolute by taking the "a" or "a0" with
a0=sqrt(.5) ?
And does the radius also correlate to "a0"?
For example if I consider air-spheres of r=150nm with a=424nm and a0=300nm,
is it legit to use the 424nm to convert to the absolute scale?
