But it is standard practice. There's no real way of knowing if someone is
subscribed to the list or not, or has recently unsubscribed or whatever.
So to have a list of people who should only get the mailing-list and who
should get a CC as well is a bit cumbersome and dynamic when you can just
send it to both for everyone and be done with it.

The people involved get their copies, the list also gets a copy for
'posterity'. Even if you are on the list the private address CC usually
gets through much faster as well. And what if SourceForge goes up the
spout for a few hours/days?
