Mr. Valsakumar,

I've been working on the RH9 problem myself. There should be a couple of
posts to the lists a few weeks ago that address this problem.

The problem is that Scigraphica requires gtk+ 1.2 and pygtk for gtk+ 1.2

Redhat comes with both gtk+1.2 and gtk+2 libraries, but the pygtk that
comes with RH9 is meant to work with only gtk+2.

First a warning - DON'T just install pygtk for gtk+1.2 - it will break
your default python installation, and the redhat configuration utilities
will no longer work (e.g. all of the redhat-config... utilites.)

One solution that seems to be working for me was the one suggested a few
weeks ago - install a second version of python in a new location with
pygtk for gtk+1.2 and then compile scigraphica to use this version of
python and thus pygtk. This seems to be working for me, and when i'm
convinced that everything is still working, (and when I get back from
the business trip I'm currently on) I'll post clear, detailed
instructions on how to get scigraphica working on RH9.

I hope this helps in the meantime...

Trevor
