Interactions between datasets on a single plot?

Adrian, everybody: I have recently gone from plotting a single dataset on a gtkextra plot to plotting two, different, datasets on the same gtkextra plot (on a single canvas, obviously). I'll have more info later (hopefully), but I'm wondering if anybody else has seen the following symptoms or has any ideas. These are sporadic problems that I'm trying to track down. When/if I can get a small sample program that shows what I'm seeing I'll post it. The most common problem shows up as the plot for one dataset going away when I add a second dataset to the plot and then do a canvas_paint() to get everything on the screen. I know this isn't much to go on yet, but it's all I've got at this point. One dataset is fine, when I add the second and call canvas_paint() the first one will sometimes disappear. It might be rooted in race-condition problems between the app and the X server (for instance, when the app is on a different machine than the X server, the problems *never* occur, when they are on the same machine the problems occur 10%-20% of the time). Although it doesn't happen every time, when it does occur it's at the same place: I've just added the second dataset and done a canvas_paint(), at which point the first dataset disappears from the screen. Thoughts?
