Bug in gtkplotcanvas?

I see in gtkplotcanvas that it inherits its widget from GtkFixed, but
in 
struct _GtkPlotCanvasClass, parent_class is set to GtkLayoutClass.

I'm a fairly proficient gtk/gtkmm user, but have not done much in the
area of widget development myself, so forgive the newby question.
But shouldn't parent_class be a GtkFixedClass?
