_gtkextra_signal_emit

I am trying to compile one of the GTKPLOT examples on Windows and I have 
sorted through most of the issues but I am getting this linker error which 
I can not sort out:

gtkplotcanvas.o(.text+0x28dc):gtkplotcanvas.c: undefined reference to 
`_gtkextra_signal_emit'

Which file is the function _gtkextra_signal_emit defined in as I can not 
find it in any of the files I downloaded?
