Hi Oliver,

perhaps you are looking for gtk_sheet_range_set_editable() ?

When a cell is marked not editable, the entry widget (with blinking 
cursor) is not displayed in the cell when you click on it.

The text is however still automatically selected and you get a cursor to 
highlight the portion you want for copy/paste, but you do not get an 
entry widget that allows you to edit the cell.
