Update

Hi all! I just committed fixes for the font stuff. I use Pango for all 
the font handling, and the results are pretty neat. (see testgtkplot, 
testgtkfont and testcharsel) There are some unsolved misteries, like  
not being able to display symbol fonts correctly. I haven't been able to 
get a good answer to this problem, so if somebody knows a fix, please 
let me know. (Apparently it is related to the fonts not having a unicode 
table. The postscript output is fine, though). Hopefuly this problem 
will be solved within fontconfig or Pango. We are almost there for a 
release. The API should fe frozen, so there shouldn't be any problems 
from now on. Enjoy!

I forgot to mention another change in the new version: the color 
gradient for countours can be displayed as an independent legend, both 
horizontally and vertically, and customized with user-picked colors and 
levels. See test programs.
